The Herscher Area Historical Society and the Herscher High School Speech Department will present a pictorial tour of 8 Grand Old Homes of Herscher. This virtual tour will be held at the Herscher Legion Community Center on Sunday Nov. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. Tickets are now available for this event.
A PowerPoint presentation of pictures of the homes as they are now and as they were in the past will be shown. Also included will be photos of the original homeowners.
Students from the Herscher High School speech department will portray the homeowners and family as they were in the early days of Herscher's settlement. The presentation will be done to make Herscher history come alive.
8 homes will be presented. They are:

Edward Fritz home at 171 N Main St
Michael Diefenbach home at 191 N Main St
Jacob Reinhart home at 290 N Main St
Joseph Peterson home at 263 N Oak
Fred Kammann home at 141 N Main St
Henry Appel home at 301 N Main St
John Herscher home at 101 N Main St
Henry Herscher home at 151 E Chicago St

Tickets to the event are available for $5 and may be obtained by emailing the Herscher Area Historical Society at herscherareahistory@yahoo.com or by calling 815.426.2627. A companion book with photos and history will also be offered for an additional $5. A limited number of booklets will be offered and if you would like to receive one of these booklets, please indicate your intentions and include an additional $5 for the booklet.

The purpose of the Herscher Area Historical Society is to capture and preserve history and artifacts related to the Herscher Area from past generations to future generations.
