Herscher Area Historical Society Cemetery Walk

The Herscher Area Historical Society is presenting a cemetery walk for this years Labor Day celebration.

A cemetery walk is a trip to the past in which participants experience history with the help of a costumed actors and reenactments, that can connect people with their towns history and consquently build pride in the community.

The different past Herscher historical figures that will be presenting during the Cemetary Walk are as follows:

  • Peter Geiger Sr.
  • Frederick Herscher
  • Dr. Levi Wisner
  • Azariah Buck
  • Kenneth Seebach
  • Vernon Plante

Photo above is the grave site for Azariah Buck. Azariah (1827 - 1915) was one of the founders and first settlers of Pilot Township and Herscher. Listen to Mrs. Buck talk about how there were only 4 people living in Pilot Township in 1855.
